Last week WCPT announced its new professional partnership with physiotherapyexercises.com – a web-based service run by physical therapists that enables colleagues around the world to generate exercise programmes for their patients and clients.  The announcement, publicised via WCPT's social media channels, reached over 42,000 individuals on Facebook alone. This followed a Facebook posting about another WCPT partner, PEDro (the Physiotherapy Evidence Database), which reached an astonishing 60,000 people. This demonstrates the value of professional partnerships to both WCPT and its partners: we both gain by publicising each other. We share the aim of advancing evidence based practice and advancing standards, and information and resources supporting those values are dispersed far more widely and effectively because we are working together. Final call for abstracts

With over two thousand abstracts already submitted there are now just hours left until the deadline - submit your abstract now at www.wcpt.org/congress/abstracts.   Get ready to take part and present at the world's largest and most prestigious physical therapy event. If you have been working on a research project and are now ready to present your findings; or you have an innovative service, practice, resource or theory to share submit your abstract now. With nearly 2,500 platform and poster presentations made at the last WCPT Congress, abstract presentations are the main way of showcasing the latest research and innovations.   Submission deadline: 31st October

Thank you to all WCPT member organisations and physical therapists who have sent in their reports about activities held to celebrate World Physical Therapy Day 2014. Health Care in Danger: e-learning module

A new e-learning module on health care responsibilities in times of conflict has been launched by the Health Care in Danger project of the ICRC. Using an engaging multimedia interface, the module presents various dilemmas that medical personnel face every day. Users can explore these issues in depth by interacting virtually with experts in the field, studying real-life issues, and receiving guidance that helps them to make decisions in difficult situations.    Find out more and access the module at: bit.ly/1wIqbMf. Access to the module is completely free and no login is required.

Educata: free articles
