November 2015 WCPT Look Forward Together: third poll
Last week the third online poll was launched for the WCPT Look Forward Together consultation – this is your opportunity to tell us your opinion on what the Confederation's priorities should be for the years 2016-2021.
The poll will take just five minutes to complete and includes translations into French and Spanish: www.surveymonkey.com/r/NG8TJZR. Volunteers are translating the poll into a number of languages to be used next to the online version. A Turkish translation is available at http://bit.ly/1jnPeRD

The call for focused symposia for the WCPT Congress 2017 will be launched next week.

WHPA award for interprofessional collaborative practice
The World Health Professions Alliance (WHPA) is calling for nominations for the WHPA Award in Interprofessional Collaborative Practice. The award aims to "recognise an outstanding interprofessional team that has worked to improve patients' health through interprofessional collaborative healthcare."
The team should include at least three different health professions, at least two of which should be represented within WHPA, ie dentists, medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists and physical therapists. Any health care setting will be considered and any field of collaborative practice is eligible.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities
3rd December is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The World Health Organization (WHO) is celebrating the day with an event around the WHO Global Disability Action Plan 2014-2021: Better health for all people with disability, which will have a special focus on Community-based rehabilitation (CBR). The occasion will be used to launch the CBR Indicators Manual and the CBR Online Training Tool.
WHO has also produced an infographic "Better health for people with disabilities", available for download at: www.who.int/disabilities/infographic/en/.
WCPT Region and subgroup events
WCPT South America Region: IV Congreso WCPT-SAR will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina 9-10 June 2016. To view the congress topics and to register go to: www.congresowcpt-sar.org (deadline for early bird rate 31st January 2016).
European Region of WCPT: the call for abstracts and registration are now open for the ER-WCPT Congress: www.liverpool2016.com. The deadline for abstract submission is 29th February 2016. The congress will take place in Liverpool, UK 11-12 November 2016.
The ER-WCPT Scientific Committee is currently recruiting potential reviewers of platform and poster abstracts, if you are interested in signing up go to: www.liverpool2016.com/abstracts.
International Neurophysiotherapy Conference: the WCPT subgroup, the International Neurological Physical Therapy Association (INPA) and ACPIN are hosting a conference in London, UK 17th-18th March 2016. The deadline for abstract submission is 7th December. To find out more or to register go to: www.acpin.net.
Free peer-reviewed research publications
One of WCPT's continuing education partners, Educata, has made several peer-reviewed research publications freely available to download. Recent papers added include topics such as:

Patient Solidarity Day
On Saturday 5th December, people from across the world will rally together to celebrate Patient Solidarity Day and declare that healthcare is a human right.
The World Health Organization states that every person has 'the right to the highest attainable standard of health'. To mark the day the International Alliance of Patients' Organizations (IAPO) has produced a toolkit of resources and logos along with a list of ideas on how to get involved.
