WCPT has launched materials for this year's World Physical Therapy Day on 8th September.

The message for 2016 is "Adding life to years", emphasising physical therapists' important role in healthy ageing.  This year's toolkit includes:

  • an infographic
  • graphics to post on social media
  • posters
  • a postcard
  • a leaflet
  • a guidance booklet
  • stickers
  • list of further resources, including research articles

World Physical Therapy Day is a fantastic opportunity for individual physical therapists and their organisations to showcase and celebrate the profession's contribution to global health. Hundreds of events took place around the world to celebrate the day in 2015. If you are an individual physical therapist planning to hold an event remember to also check with your national association so that any activities can be linked up.

New amputee rehabilitation case study database
WCPT professional partner, Physiopedia, has announced that it has published over 100 quality (peer reviewed) case studies on amputee rehabilitation.

The database represents the best 100 case reports, out of the more than 1,000 that were submitted as part of a massive open online course (MOOC) on lower limb amputees, and represent excellent examples of global practice on rehabilitation of individuals with limb loss

Thanks to support from the British Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Amputee Rehabilitation (BACPAR) this open access database is freely available at: bit.ly/28XVHOk.
