The World Health Organization (WHO) has published a Priority Assistive Products List promoting access to assistive technology. The list includes hearing aids, wheelchairs, communication aids, spectacles, artificial limbs, pill organizers, memory aids and other essential items for many older people and people with disabilities to be able to live a healthy, productive and dignified life.The list was finalised at a consensus meeting held in March, which was attended by Alice Inman on behalf of WCPT to represent the physical therapy profession. A UN Human Rights report has been approved by UN members and it advocates/justifies a human right for sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyle.Andrea Backovic-Jurican was the only physical therapist invited to join the working group as a public health expert, together with approximately 20 other global experts. Andrea is involved in the WCPT Network for Health Promotion in Life and Work (HPLW).The report is available for download in several languages at: bit.ly/2aJTMzlCall for mentors: education and professional associations In collaboration with Handicap International and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), WCPT is implementing a project of strengthening national associations and entry level physical therapist education programmes in Mali, Niger and Senegal.WCPT is seeking a WCPT Country Mentor for each of the three countries, who will mentor leadership of physical therapist education institutions. WCPT is also seeking Country Mentors who will mentor leadership of national physical therapy associations in those countries.For further information please go to: www.wcpt.org/vacancies. One year ago the ICRC hosted a public livestreamed conference to mark the launch of "The Ethical principles of health care in times of armed conflict and other emergencies". Qualified as "ground-breaking" by ICRC President Peter Maurer, the ethical principles have since been signed by WCPT.

The Women's World Summit Foundation has launched its annual campaign Kit '19 Days of Activism for prevention of violence against children and youth 1-19 November 2016'. The European Region of WCPT is holding the largest European physiotherapy-dedicated event of 2016.
